Perfect CDG Layover Itineraries: 4–12 Hours in 2026 (Inside & Outside the Airport)

A layover at CDG can be either a waiting game or an opportunity for an adventure. Here are perfect itineraries for 4 to 12 hours in Paris.

4-Hour Layover (Quick Option) Within Airport: Grab a coffee at a café in Terminal 2E, browse luxury duty-free shops, relax in a lounge if accessible. This is the safest bet for a quick turnaround.

Outside Airport: Not recommended. You won't have enough time to clear customs, get to Paris, and return.

6-Hour Layover (Moderate Option) Within Airport: Visit luxury boutiques like Chanel and Dior in Terminal 2E. Enjoy a leisurely meal at one of the sit-down restaurants. Take a 30-minute power nap in a YOTELAIR cabin (book in advance).

Outside Airport: Possible if you're confident. Take RER B to central Paris (35 minutes each way), leaving only about 45 minutes in the city. Grab a coffee on Champs-Élysées or visit a nearby bistro.

8-Hour Layover (Comfortable Option) Within Airport: Experience the new 2026 flight simulator in Terminal 2G (30-45 minutes). Enjoy fine dining at one of the upscale restaurants. Shop at multiple boutiques. Shower in a premium lounge.

Outside Airport: Take RER B to Gare du Nord, grab lunch in the Latin Quarter, visit a nearby museum, and return. About 3 hours in Paris total.

12-Hour Layover (Extended Option) Within Airport: Almost a full day. Experience everything. Visit the airport's art exhibitions and cultural displays. Try multiple restaurants. Shop extensively. Take a nap in a YOTELAIR cabin.

Outside Airport: Take RER B to central Paris. Explore Île de la Cité, visit Notre-Dame area, enjoy lunch at a bistro, visit the Louvre for 2 hours, and return comfortably.

New in 2026: Flight Simulator Experience CDG introduced an interactive flight simulator experience in Terminal 2G. This is perfect for aviation enthusiasts and gives a unique CDG layover experience.
